SAAMI Standardizes Suppressor Threads

In news that bodes well for all things silencer and silencer-related, SAAMI, the guys who standardize and publish specs and drawings for cartridges and chambers, has now done the same thing for barrel threads and suppressor sockets.

This is important as it will help keep everyone referring to the same spec when it comes to shoulders and thread pitches.

“It is exciting to see SAAMI expanding its reach for the benefit of American sport shooters by providing technical guidance in the field of sound suppression and methods of attachment for muzzle devices,” said Alan Serven, SAAMI’s Senior Director of Technical Affairs.
