Highest price for a Blaster, ever

We’ve talked about the Rock Island Auction for the sale of the only surviving “BlasTech DL-44 Heavy Blaster” wielded by Harrison Ford as Han Solo in Star Wars: A New Hope in past weeks.

Crafted from a C96 “Broomhandle” Mauser by Bapty prop house in the UK, Rock Island acquired it and marketed it logically– making the auction house’s first appearance at ComiCon in San Diego where it “caught the fascination and nostalgia of fans around the world.”

Estimated to sell in the $300K-$500K range, over the weekend it went for a whopping $940K which, after costs and fees, winds up being $1,057,000. That is a lot of nerd power.
