CZ-USA this week announced two new models of the CZ 457 bolt-action rimfire rifle oriented to left-hand users. The two new variants are a .22LR LH Varmint with a 20-inch heavy-profile barrel and an LH American model with a 24-inch light-profile barrel in either .22WMR or .22LR.
Besides a 60-degree bolt and push-to-fire safety located on the left side of the rifleās receiver, both have otherwise standard CZ 457 features such as adjustable triggers, Turkish walnut stocks, and a detachable polymer magazine. When it comes to specs and weights, the Varmint model, with its heavier barrel, runs about 7-pounds while the American clocks in about a pound lighter but runs a few inches longer overall.
MSRP on the CZ 457 LH Varmint is $625 while the CZ 457 LH American is $589. For those who are curious, Lefties make up about 10 percent of the general population.
