Bersa has been around for as long as I can remember, with a rich history of manufacturing — the company’s Bersa Thunder .380, a pistol frequently compared to the Walther PPK, built much of that reputation. Today we are reviewing Bersa’s first entry to the 2011/double-stack 1911 pistol category: the Bersa M2Xi 9mm pistol. The 2011 category of pistols uses the hugely popular 1911 design, but incorporates the smaller 9mm cartridge and boosts capacity. Bersa’s US-based manufacturing plant in Kennesaw, Georgia keeps the company’s newest products, and Americans, employed making firearms for the rest of us.
Since the M2Xi is relatively new, there seems to be some confusion about the pistol and what comes with it. We will clarify the discrepancies and show our own experiences with the pistol as delivered from Bersa.
