Tisas announces new Tank Commander 1911

SDS Imports has been bringing in a Commander-sized M1911A1 variant from Tisas in Turkey dubbed the Tanker for the past couple of years. That basic black Cerakoted .45ACP runs a GI-style hammer on a forged slide with a 4.25-inch stainless barrel and a full-sized frame complete with a flat mainspring housing, Series 70 internals, and a slightly extended 8+1 capacity magazine. Well, tweaking the concept a bit, they are now shipping an updated version of the Tanker that is both more retro and more modern at the same time. Calling it the Tank Commander, it is the same basic pistol but with improved serrated sights, checkered walnut grips, a rounded mainspring housing, and a rowel (round spur) hammer. It also ships with flush-fit 7-shot mags.

Notably, the Tank Commander will be available in either 9mm or .45ACP and in either a matte grey Cerakote finish (as shown) or a “Marine” nickel which is sure to be a hit with the Punisher grip guys. The asking price is set to be the same $429 as with the Tanker.
