In more Turkish polymer pistol news, Florida’s SAR USA– the folks that have been bringing Sarsilmaz pistols across the Atlantic for a generation– has a new compact 9mm with lots of goodies and a (kinda) budget price.
The new SAR9 Compact X is a very Glock 19-sized polymer-framed striker-fired pistol with a 4-inch barrel. Using the same DNA of the larger SAR9 pistol, which had been developed to pursue NATO pistol contracts, it has 3-dot combat sights on an optic-cut slide, an accessory rail, and a semi-modular frame.
The pistol will be offered in black, stainless, “platinum” and OD green variants with two 15-shot mags and a box of budget-looking accessories including a paddle holster, double mag pouch, a magazine loader, and weapon light that I am telling you right now, you should not use.
The asking price is $632, which in hindsight, isn’t that much of a deal when compared to the rest of the market.
