Gun Sales Still Booming

The latest NICS figures from the FBI say that last month a stout 2.3 million background checks were performed by the platform.

Of course, those checks come from a lot of sources, but the National Shooting Sports Foundation sifted through the codes and found that over 1.1 million were likely for the retail sale of a firearm.

While the figures are down from those seen in May 2021 and May 2020, they are still much higher than anything seen before then and the country has been over the million-a-month benchmark for the past 34 months in a row. That is a lot of guns.

So, while the economy is contracting, inflation is rising, and are paychecks covering less, all the talk of gun bans and regulation on all levels post-Buffalo/Uvalde is sure to keep the sales well over the million mark every month until at least November.
