One of the most universally derided things about the AK platform and its spinoffs is that the trigger, by nature of being designed with loose tolerances in mind, is creepy and mushy.
Well, CMC Triggers (yes, Bill Wilson of Wilson Combat’s outfit of all people) has been flirting with Kalashnikov USA to produce a drop-in trigger pack for AKs. The deets are that the new AK 2.0 trigger is a single-stage, nonadjustable precision trigger offered with either a 3.5- or 2.5-pound pull weight. In line with other CMC triggers, the internal components are made from 8620 alloy steel and S-7 tool steel while the chassis is made from 7075-T6 aircraft-grade anodized aluminum.
Offered with a flat trigger bow, it is designed to be a drop-in fit with other AK pattern rifles having correctly aligned and dimensioned trigger and hammer pins, which means it could probably be used with Galils and Valmets as well.
MSRP is $189.99.
