Savage announced their straight-pull bolt action Impulse series guns a couple of years back and they have, thus far, proved popular enough for the company to introduce additional models. The newest is the Driven Hunter, which runs shorter (18-20 inches depending on the caliber) barrels on a gray synthetic stock. Offered in 6.5 Creedmoor, .308, .30-06, and .300 Win Mag, they weigh around 7 pounds and include Savage’s user adjustable AccuStock and AccuTrigger system.
The unwelcome news is, they start at $1,399, which seems a little high.
