Vang Comp Brings Tidings of Great Combat Shotguns

Nevada’s Vang Comp has been making shotguns better since the 1990s and their custom 12-gauge service can get you about as close to perfect as it comes to a “combat shotgun.” However, nobody has ever accused them of being cheap. It is easy to go well over the $2K mark on a tricked-out Vang Comp gun and, if you get all the bells and whistles, push past $3K.

Well, they now offer a “no frills” Mossberg 590A1 variant, the Vang Comp Model 764, which gets you the basics that includes the standard 9-shot 590A1 stuff– which is great as it is– and adds a light-ready Tri-Rail forend, ghost ring sights, and (of course) Vang’s legendary compensated 18-inch heavy-walled shotgun barrel that is well-known for reducing the felt recoil and tightening shot/slug patterns while reducing muzzle rise and flash. Vang also tweaks the internals and adds their Big Speed safety and stainless steel mag follower.

The price is $1K, which is actually a good deal because Mossberg has a suggested retail of $800 on the base 590A1 by itself.
