Simonov SKS 9mm PCC?

We’ve seen the image floating around social media last weekend. The one about the Romanian-made Simonov 9mm pistol caliber carbines.

They look to have SKS-45 style upper halves and a sort of B&T lower and accept B&T mags. While it almost seems like it could be a real thing– the Cugir Factory in Romania did in fact make SKSs back in the day and the plant is still around, and B&T USA imports lots of weird stuff from Eastern Europe– in our opinion it just seems that way.

We are here to bust this myth as just that. Of course, it isn’t impossible to produce a blowback-action PCC with SKS styling, but why? Plus, the image looks super photoshopped, and there is precisely zero other chatter that this is a thing barring this one low-rez image.
